In the summer of 2024, Orange County duo Double Wish dropped their EP, Universe Sometimes. They are known for their uniquely contrasting ‘dark sunshine-pop’ sound, which merges the sparkle of their guitar tones and dreamy, hypnotic rhythmic cycles with deep bass and lyrics of mortality and desire. Towards the end of the year, they released their most impressive cut yet, ‘Soft Skin’. It was an intimate, melancholy and warm track that engaged with what the band have labelled ‘pop-gaze’. Double Wish have a new EP, Deeper Ecstacy, coming out on February 28th, 2025, and have a busy year of touring in support of the release lined up. -Dan Peeke
